Technical Specifications
All data that has not been submitted and saved on the website is stored on the phone and transmitted when a connection becomes available.
uDrove uses GPS technology to track your location while in “driving” status. uDrove does not track your location in any status other than “driving”.
Driver Logs
There is limited editing capability from the phone. The start time of your last duty status change can be edited from the phone. Full editing of logs can be done from your web account.
Assuming you use the product as designed, uDrove logs contain all of the requirements of a legal log. You may still need to maintain a printed and signed copy of your computer-assisted log when law enforcement requires. A completed, printed and signed uDrove driver log will meet all of the legal requirements for enforcement.
At this time, uDrove does not support team driver functionality from a single phone. Look for support of team driving from one phone in the future. In order for a team to use uDrove, each driver would have to maintain their own device, application and web account.
Mobile Phone Application
Once you register with uDrove, you will receive a registration confirmation email that has the download instructions and links for each operating system. In general, you will type in a URL into your phone’s browser to download the uDrove application and then complete the installation by following the prompts. iPhones can download uDrove from the iPhone App Store.
Web Account
In general, uDrove is mobile phone software that reports the data collected on the phone to the web account. The web account allows you to review, edit, and export the data and/or run reports.
Information is immediately uploaded to the web account, assuming there is a data connection. In the event that you are out of coverage, the data is stored on the mobile phone and uploaded to the web account when a connection becomes available.
Yes, uDrove supports export capabilities to a variety of software programs. For more details, please contact customer service at 888-983-7683.
Load Tracking
As a driver, you will need to “create a load” under driver tools. Then that load will be assigned a tracking ID. You can provide your phone number and tracking ID to a shipper/broker who can then go to the www.uDrove.com home page and enter the information to track your location in real time. Once you complete the load from the phone, the tracking capabilities are disabled for that load.
Proof of Delivery
Most companies today accept images but you must consult with your shipper or broker to verify if an image is acceptable document.
Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR)
Yes, it meets the minimum regulatory requirements as described in FMCSA regulation section 396.11.
Compliance
uDrove captures the information that you record during your trips. If you choose to engage mileage tracking via the driving status selection and input all of your fuel purchases, then you should have all of the data needed for fuel tax reporting purposes.
The data stored within uDrove is your data. If a legal action occurs that requires uDrove to comply with a court order, uDrove will consult with you prior to releasing any information.
You can download the information collected by uDrove into your own computer system. In addition, uDrove will store your data based on the following schedule:
- Drivers Log – 6 months
- Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) – 90 days
- Proof of Delivery (P.O.D.s) – 12 months
- GPS Data – 5 years
- All other data will be kept for a period of 7 years.
